Tuesday, March 08, 2005 The robe is hanging funny on me because I'm walking towards the camera, but you can see my robe. It's made of almost a charmeuse material, with a Beauxbatons logo embroidered on.

Here's the underclothing for my Beauxbatons uniform. Although it looks just like a Hogwarts costume, the sweater is in fact decorated with gold and purple, and the tie is also gold and purple.

Friday, February 18, 2005 MOVINGAll righty, this is the end. Well, not really. I've decided to amalgamate my blogs, because I'm having a really hard time keeping up to having two. Therefore, this blog will still be here, but not updated. All my new updates are at A Long Yarn All Wound Up. All my archives from this blog will still be here. Thanks for reading, join me at the new place (bring blog-warming gifts!). Be forewarned, the primary focus of the other blog is knitting!

Monday, February 07, 2005 Sorry about the lack of posts, they may be missing for awhile. I managed to get myself pneumonia, again, so I've been sick and my wonderful Mummy has been here doing my dishes and fetching me hot water. Aussi, j'ai découvert que mon Français est très mauvaise, mais j'ai aussi découvert un petit blog qui s'appelle Pure Laine, et je vais le lire dans un effort pour améliorez mon Français. J'aime sa projets aussi!

Thursday, February 03, 2005 1. Grab the nearest book. 2. Open the book to page 123. 3. Find the fifth sentence. 4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions. 5. Don't search around and look for the "coolest" book you can find. Do what's actually next to you. "Do get on with it, and don't bother about anything else!" From "Leaf by Niggle" in JRR Tolkien's Tales from the Perilous Realm

Monday, January 31, 2005 Quick post here, I finished the essay, and I got to school yesterday in an effort to get some lab work done, but no dice. There was a class in my lab room. An unfortunate side effect of a small University. Right now I am finishing up hand-painting my yarn. Pictures to follow.

Saturday, January 29, 2005 While attempting to come up with something for dinner, I just inevented (well, combined recipes and changed seasonings) a very awesome recipe. Potato Wedges with Aioli Wedges: 4 Baking Potatoes Vegetable Oil Salt Paprika Basil Steak Spice Heat oven to 400F. Slice each potato into 8 wedges, toss in a bowl with some oil, salt, paprika, and basil. Bake about 40 minutes, until golden and crispy. After taking them out, sprinkle with some steak spice. Aioli: 2 tbsp Mayonnaise 1 med Garlic Clove Lemon Juice Mix the mayonnaise with minced garlic, and about a teaspoon or so of lemon juice. Soooooo good. And really not all that bad for you!

Here's the random picture, for yesterday. This is a drilling truck, to drill very narrow and deep holes for seismic charges, when running seismic lines (it's actually from the same trip as last Friday's picture). If you're curious, to get my random picture I open up the picture folder, put my cursor on the scroll bar, and close my eyes while I move the scroll bar up and down, until I stop somewhere and move over and double click. So it really is random!

Recognize the line above? It's from an old Scottish folk song, Loch Lomond. Why am I quoting it? Because last night I went tubing at Thunder Bay's ski hill, Loch Lomond. It was soooooooo much fun, I can't describe how much fun it was. You travel up to the top of the bunny hill in the chair lifts, and down one side of the bunny hill they've created two very wide chutes. You grab an inner tube (from a transport/semi tire), and barrel down the hill down one of the chutes. It's safer than I envisioned, because they only allow one person per tube, and only up to three hooked together (by arms, legs, heads), and they only allow one tube/group at a time. However, the speed with which you rocket down the hill more than makes up for that! Next week Laura and Allison and I are going back, but this time we'll probably ski or snowboard. |
