I am 26.0335% geek (see link from Allan). If I didn't like LOTR and Star Wars it would be significantly lower. But that percentage makes me a total geek, which I already knew I was. Oh well!

Yesterday was a great "spree" day. I went to West Ed, and first went to check out the formal dresses, since the one I'm sewing for Top Hat is not working out. I bought nice new pale yellow sheets to match my quilt, 50% off. Fabric to cover my plaid comforter, and to make an apron since I can't bake without getting flour all over me. It's a retro 50's pattern, I'm making the large one in the middle with a "bib". I got neato material too, also very 50's, in horizontal blue and white stripes with green vines and pink flowers. I also got two pairs of stain-resistant khaki's from Old Navy, absolutely identical because they only had one colour. I didn't have any work pants so that was a problem. I have to go back this weekend to get work shirts. I also got wool to make a scarf (those of you as obsessed with LOTR as I am should recognize it). After all this I went to Chapters, picked up an Agatha Christie, and went and had lunch at Moxie's. Came home, studied, made up my bed with newly washed sheets, and cut out the apron pattern. A profitable day.

Today does not promise to be as exciting, unfortunately. I'll be studying Carbonates and Mapping, cutting out my apron (and possibly sewing on it), and dropping off my roll of film at London Drugs so I can give Curtis his camera back!

Ooooh my counter is almost up to 1000. I wonder what I should do when it gets there? I have friends who will give away a piece of art or something to the person who hits a significant number on the counter. I guess I could sew something...well, if you're the person who hits 1000 and you want a plushie (I make awesome plushies, I have a 26" Elanor Gamgee doll I made out of scraps from my costume) take a screenshot of the page at 1000 and leave a comment so I can get ahold of you. The plushie = free unless you want some crazy expensive material in the costume, and if you live somewhere where it'll cost me more than $5 shipping you'll have to make up the extra. Hey, you're getting a free custom plushie so no complaining! :) I'll try to put up a picture of the one I made so anyone can see what they look like. And if you can think of something else you want (I also made a White Tree of Gondor shirt, painted white on a black t-shirt that's really cool) we'll see if we can work something out.

Finally, I'll have spare time this summer, between work and sewing Allan's Merry costume (from which I am stealing scraps to make a plushie of Merry, unless Allan wants a mini-me as well) to sew other stuff, so if you want to comission something, leave a comment and I just might give it a shot!

From Allan

-Pick up the nearest book.
-Open it to page 23.
-Find the fifth sentence.
-Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.

"They'll destroy her if we don't"
-From The Last Command by Timothy Zahn. If you'd asked me this morning it would have been something from my Optical Mineralogy book, but that final's over now. Went OK, the question I couldn't get no one else could get either. So now I don't know if I should watch a movie or sew (and yes I will study too for Mapping). I'm actually putting off making the rolled hem on my chiffon, because that's gonna be hell all over. Yuck. What I really want to do is start Allan's costume, but all the material is at Angela's house. Speaking of which, Allan, if you read this, did you get more material for your (and my) cloak?

Here's my M.A.S.H. reading:

Live in a mansion in Australia
Marry Allan have 12 kids (ya right)
Work as a mother and have a pink Civic!

-side note as of Wednesday, 12 kids ain't gonna happen, and I don't know any available Allan's as of the moment. But a mansion in Australia and a pink Civic sound awesome to me!
*yet another side note, to say that in the above addition, "side note as of Wednesday" indicates that the edit was made on Wednesday, not that something so, well, "indiscrete" occured that as of Wednesday I can no longer have 12 kids. Just thought I should clarify that.

Grammar God!

You are a GRAMMAR GOD!

If your mission in life is not already to
preserve the English tongue, it should be.
Congratulations and thank you!

More new pictures up on deviantart, some sketches of my sister when she was younger (the best one is "Baby, 10 months"), as well as a new devID and a couple other things.

At the moment I have a massive sinus headache, that feels like my rock hammer snuck into my head last night and decided to drive its way slowly back out.
