Thoughts of a Canadian University Student

Monday, August 16, 2004

I found one of these buried in my inbox, and decided to post it. Some of the info is obviously not complete, but it's all part of the mystery...

LAYER ONE: On the Outside

Name: Karlie
Birth date: Sept 14, 1983
Birthplace: Northwestern Ontario
Current Location: Southern Alberta
Eye Color: Very golden brownish
Hair Color: Natural - med blonde, Now - dark auburnish blonde
Height: *sighs* 5'3.5"

LAYER TWO: On The Inside

Your heritage: Canadian 3 gens, really. But Scandanavian and UK, mostly.
Your weakness: Cheese, believe it or not. Dairy in general really.
Your fears: That I'm never going to accomplish anything truly significant, both in life and love
Your perfect pizza: Loads of various cheeses, with fresh tomatoes, red onions, and spinach
Goal you'd like to achieve: I'd like to do Grad School at Cambridge or another school in the UK

LAYER THREE: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

Your most overused phrase on AIM: lol
Your thoughts first waking up: "Maybe if I ripped my sinuses out they wouldn't plug like this"
Your best physical feature: My cheekbones - thank God for Scand ancestry, they are very high and sculpted. :D
Your bedtime: Like it to be 10, more like 11
Your most missed memory: Feeling absolutely content with my life. I've only felt like that once, and I'd like to feel settled again!

LAYER FOUR: Your Pick

Pepsi or Coke: Pepsi, Coke is way too strong tasting
McDonald's or Burger King: Mickey D's I guess. Since we never had a BK
Single or group dates: I like groups when it's awkward at first
Adidas or Nike: Since I have the world's narrowest feet I have to say Nike. Plus their new Olympic "You're faster than you think" commercials are funny
Lipton Ice Tea or Nestea: Lipton brewed, not disgusting BRISK
Chocolate or vanilla: Vanilla with chocolate chips/sauce/coating/etc.
Cappuccino or coffee: EW try a vanilla steamed milk instead

LAYER FIVE: Do You?

Smoke: Disgusting habit. So, obviously, no.
Cuss: Occasionally, not sure how often really.
Sing: All the time.
Have a crush(es): There's a hot guy on my softball team.
Think you've been in love: I think so.
Like(d) high school: DHS had good friends with zip education. And I adored my SJR years.
Want to get married: Very much.
Believe in yourself: Depends on what you're talking about. Academics yes, music mostly, love/beauty not so much
Get motion sickness: Ever since I started having stomach problems I've been susceptible.
Think you're attractive: Depends on the day. Right now I look like crap because I just had surgery, so my abdomen is swollen and weird looking.
Think you're a health freak: I obsess about all the wrong things. One should enjoy their food! And I need more excercise
Get along with your parents: 95% of the time, so I'd say pretty awesomely!
Like thunderstorms: Love them.
Play an instrument: I did my Grade 10 piano (no exam) and Grade 5 voice

LAYER SIX: In the past month have you...

Drank alcohol: No
Smoked: No.
Done a drug: I was on morphine and percoset at the hospital...
Gone to the mall?: Yes, but to go to the Devonian Gardens for lunch
Eaten an entire box of Oreos: Don't really like them so no.
Eaten sushi: I can't, it's all got rice!
Been on stage: Nope, but hopefully once I get to Lakehead and in the TBSO Choir
Been dumped: You'd have to be dating for that to happen.
Gone skating: Um, it's summer. So no.
Gone skinny dipping: Not THIS summer...
Dyed your hair: Not in the past month, but I do every 8 or so.
Stolen anything: No

LAYER SEVEN: Ever...

Played a game that required removal of clothing: No, but I could be convinced.
Been trashed or extremely intoxicated: Admittedly yes. But in the past year I've only been tipsy, not really smashed, and only twice.
Been caught "doing something": Nope
Been called a tease: By both people I don't know AND my friends. Apparently I flirt as often as I draw breath.
Gotten beaten up: Sort of - does mental abuse from bullies count?
Shoplifted: I admit, I took a hershy hug from the bulk food store once. I still feel guilty about that.

LAYER EIGHT: Getting Older

Age you hope to be married: I dunno, hopefully before 40! I'd like to have a serious relationship before 30 (25 optimistically, but I can wait)
Describe your dream wedding: Outdoors, Irises in the bouquet, girls in sapphire. Honest, I don't think about it that much...
How do you want to die: Good Lord, what a question! Preferrably NOT drowning, burning, or a plane crash, and not young.
What do you want to be when you grow up: A University professor in Europe with a family.
What country would you most like to visit: New Zealand and Australia.

LAYER NINE: In a boy (or girl)

Best eye color?: Meh
Best hair color?: Meh again
Short or long hair: Depends on the long. As long as it's no longer than earlobes and is half-styled.
Height: Taller than me - not hard to do.
Best first date location: Movies, or a beach day.

LAYER TEN: In The Numbers...

Number of people I could trust with my life: A good percentage.
Number of CDs that I own: Um, 30? Not including DVD's and computer stuff?
Number of piercings: Three... one in each ear, and one navel that the surgery left untainted, thank God.
Number of tattoos: None.
Number of times my name has appeared in the Newspaper?: Quite a bit, mostly the local paper. I have been in the Thunder Bay and Winnipeg papers though.
Number of scars on my body: Well I'll have three new ones from laparoscopy.
Current Mood: Bored, a little tired.
